2011 Features of Lexus Gs Cars Models

2011 Lexus GS
Motor Trend has some new rumors on the next-generation Lexus GS expected to debut in 2011, including some questionable information on engine specifications that make me doubt their source:
Gone is the current 4.6-liter V-8, replaced by a 2.5-liter V-6—most likely a version of the engine presently found in the IS. The present 3.5-liter V-6 will become the top of the range. About a year after launch, a 2.5-liter hybrid will reportedly be added to the GS lineup.
In contrast, the GS F variant will employ the IS F’s 5.0-liter V-8, but with strategic modifications including revamped ECU and exhaust. Horsepower will reportedly be boosted from 417 hp to as much as 464 hp.
…the GS F will also incorporate a lighter platform and some carbon fiber body parts to get pounds down to a target weight of around 3530 lbs.
Basically, this would equal a GS 250, GS 350, GSh & a GS-F, which means that Lexus’ sports sedan would experience a dramatic performance downshift, and not be offered with a V8 engine except in a F-Sport tuned model. How likely is that?
It’s true that the current GS 460 & GS 450h put out similar performance numbers, and that could make one of the models redundant in the future. And yet, Motor Trend’s lineup eliminates both. The entire lineup would need to hit the proposed 3530 lb weight to make this viable, never mind just the GS-F. I can’t see the IS 250’s engine even being able to move a GS without some drastic weight reduction, and even if it could, I doubt we’ll see a GS 250 in North America.
Lexus GS Hybrid 2011 ranks no 1 in hybrid cars and ranks in top 5 among luxury large cars. Our ranking is based analysis of different published reviews and the test drive data of Lexus GS Hybrid. Lexus GS 450h is a no compromise hybrid, and it is well said by Lexus. It offers extreme power of V8 with the fuel economy of V6 and the luxury interior that Lexus is famous for.
It is the best handler, which gives you sporty ride. The Lexus GSH 2011 comes early in 2010. There is a common perception about Hybrid cars that these are oddly shaped, low performance cars, but with a great fuel economy. However, the Lexus GSH 11 has changed the thinking. Lexus has made good repute in Hybrid cars and is considered to be the combination of luxury and design.
Lexus GSH is among the most fuel efficient cars in its class with powerful performance. The GSH offers performance that competes with luxury sports sedans, an attractive interior, stylish designing and extra ordinary safety ratings. Still it cannot match with high performing cars on winding road. Reviewers are not happy with Lexus GSH steering and it also unsuitable for taller drivers. It is often noticed that the line of Lexus GS cars is unsuitable for people over six feet tall. You can consider Infiniti M if you are above six feet. However, the design and interior are perfect for most of the people. You cannot compare any other car with Lexus GS Hybrid in a fuel economy.
Lexus GSH Ratings:
Lexus GSH Performance: 4.6 (Very Good)
Lexus GSH Exterior: 4.7 (Very Good)
Lexus GSH Interior: 4.4 (Good)
Lexus GSH Safety: 5.0 (Excellent)
Lexus GSH Reliability: 3.8 (Average)
Power & Performance
The steering is not good, but in comparison with 2010 model now there is nothing much to complain about. Lexus GSH surprisingly is a sharp performer. Most of the buyers think that the performance is not good and it is a hybrid car to focusing on fuel economy. Surprisingly, it is the best performing car that competes with V8s. The results show 22 mpg in city and 25 mpg on highway fuel economy.
In 2011 model, it comes with the same engine, but the horsepower is reduced to 292 from 340. It is still competent to match with other luxury cars, but reduce in power is not appreciated by many reviewers. We need to wait for the 2011 test drive and reviewers analysis in detail to see the actual performance. Lexus GS Hybrid engine is a powerful gasoline that uses advanced valve train and injection technology for extra performance. The Lexus GSH engine intake and exhaust valve timing is regularly adjusted to give sheer power and efficiency. The steering is improved significantly in a new model with rear wheel power.
The Lexus GSH offer aggressive performance brakes, Variable Gear-Ratio Steering, Adaptive variable Suspension, and Lexus Super Ultra Low Emission system. Regenerative Braking system helps to recharge car batteries. Dual exhaust enhances the cars feel and performance.
Interior & Exterior
The Lexus GS Hybrid offers the best interior at this price point. The cabin is luxurious and loaded with many high tech gadgets. The electronic system is easy to use and not complicated like BMW i Drive or Mercedes COMMAND system. Lexus GSH offers single user interface that controls all climate and entertainment functions.

There are many exterior features include Smart Access (Sensors in and around the vehicle allow you to unlock the Lexus GSh by simply touching the door handle), HID Headlamps, Integrated Fog lamps, Intuitive Parking Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Backup Camera and many other features.
Safety & Reliability
There are no crash tests for 2011 Lexus GS Hybrid. However, based on the past safety ratings and analysis Lexus GS Hybrid is the safest car with 5 out of 5 ratings. There are so many safety features like SRS Airbags (sophisticated network of sensors and 10 airbags), VDIM, Safety Connect™, Pre-Collision System, Adaptive Front Lighting, Direct Tire Pressure Monitor System, ABS With Brake Assist, Theft-Deterrent System, Smart Stop Technology and many standard safety features.
Lexus GSH comes with basic warranty coverage for 48 months or 50,000 miles and wheel alignment and balancing covered for 12 months or 20,000 miles. Lexus GS Hybrid is the fun to drive car with excellent reliability and performance.

The Engine

The base version, the GS 350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 303 HP at 6,200 rpm and 274 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 3,600 rpm. The GS 460 gets a V8 engine that delivers 342 HP at 6,400 rpm and 339 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,100 rpm. The GS350 gets a a Six-Speed Sequential-Shift Automatic transmission, while the GS 460 version receives an Eight-Speed Sequential-Shift automatic transmission that allows manual shifting for a more engaging driving experience, and helps to maximize performance in certain driving situations. The GS 460 can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, the GS 350 in 5.7.

Engine/Transmission/Drive train/Performance

The GS gas luxury sport sedan comes in three models - GS 350 rear-wheel drive (RWD), GS 350 all-wheel drive (AWD) and GS 460 RWD. Optimized for low internal friction, the GS 350’s 3.5-liter V6 engine produces 303 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 274 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 3,600 rpm. A direct fuel-injection system provides much finer fuel-mixture control to improve both power and fuel efficiency. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) acts on both intake and exhaust valves to further enhance performance through a wide rpm range. A smooth-shifting six-speed transmission allows sequential shifting when desired.

The GS 460’s V8 produces 342 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 339 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,100 rpm. The GS 460, like the GS 350, meets the EPA’s Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-II) certification. Lexus has been setting standards for power train smoothness since its inception, and the GS 460’s V8 and eight-speed automatic transmission continue that tradition. The transmission, like the six-speed automatic in the GS 350 models, allows manual shifting for a more engaging driving experience, and helps to maximize performance in certain driving situations. The GS 460 can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, the GS 350 in 5.7 (5.8 for AWD).
